Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 20, 2026

GlyphFex Software, a sole proprietorship operated by John Philippe Abellanosa and registered in Manitoba, Canada ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

The short version: GlyphFex is a desktop application. Your job data stays on your machine (or your local SQL Server). We do not have access to your business data. We collect only the minimum information necessary to operate our licensing and support services.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

  • Account information: When you purchase a license, we collect your name, email address, and billing information (processed by our payment provider).
  • Support requests: When you contact us, we collect the information you include in your message.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • License validation: When GlyphFex starts, it may contact Lemon Squeezy's license API to verify your license status. This transmits your license key and a machine identifier. No business data is transmitted.
  • Website analytics: Our website may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand visitor behavior (pages visited, referral source). We do not use advertising trackers.

1.3 Payment Processing (Lemon Squeezy)

All purchases are processed by our merchant-of-record partner, Lemon Squeezy (a service of Stripe Inc., headquartered in the United States). When you purchase a license, Lemon Squeezy collects and processes your name, email, billing address, and payment method. GlyphFex receives notification of completed purchases and your email address for license delivery, but we never see or store your payment card details. See the Lemon Squeezy Privacy Policy for their handling practices.

1.4 Information We Do NOT Collect

  • Your job entries, tags, pipeline data, or any content within your .glyphfex files
  • Your customer names, part numbers, purchase orders, or any business data
  • Files attached to your entries
  • Audit trail or change history
  • SQL Server database contents (in team mode)
  • Usage telemetry or feature tracking within the application

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To process your purchase and provide license keys
  • To verify your license status
  • To respond to support requests
  • To send important product updates (security patches, new versions)
  • To improve our website and marketing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your business data is stored entirely on your local machine (Solo mode) or your local network SQL Server (Team mode). We have no access to this data and cannot retrieve, view, or modify it.

Account and licensing data is stored on secure servers with encryption at rest and in transit.

Payment information is processed by our third-party payment provider and is never stored on our servers.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your license is active. If you cancel your subscription, we retain your email address and purchase history for tax and legal compliance purposes. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your personal information (subject to legal retention requirements)
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Opt out of marketing communications at any time

To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@glyphfex.com.

6. Canadian Privacy Law (PIPEDA)

GlyphFex is based in Canada and complies with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). We collect personal information only with your knowledge and consent, for purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate.

7. Commercial Electronic Messages (CASL)

GlyphFex complies with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). When you purchase a license, you are providing express consent to receive transactional messages (license delivery, renewal reminders, security updates, and service changes). You may withdraw consent for non-transactional marketing messages at any time via the unsubscribe link in any such message, or by contacting privacy@glyphfex.com. We will not send you marketing messages without either your express consent or an existing business relationship, as defined by CASL.

8. International Users and Cross-Border Data

GlyphFex is operated from Canada, but our payment processor (Lemon Squeezy / Stripe Inc.) stores and processes data in the United States. If you are located outside Canada, your account information may be processed and stored in Canada and/or the United States. By using GlyphFex, you consent to these transfers. Canadian and U.S. privacy laws provide protections comparable to many international standards.

9. Children's Privacy

GlyphFex is a business application and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify existing customers of material changes via email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
